Volvo S60 wins prestigious “Middle East Car of the Year” award at Middle East Motor Awards

Volvo cars are becoming more and more popular in the Middle East and North African region, among both customers as well as motoring journalists.

This is probably one of the reasons why the Volvo Car Corporation took home the most coveted award of the Middle East Motor Award (MEMA) ceremony with the Volvo S60 winning “Middle East Car of the Year�.

MEMA is currently the most coveted and prestigious award in the Middle East. It is currently also the most credible award of its kind, judged by 19 highly sought-after automotive experts from 10 countries, including Lebanon, Oman, Jordon, Bahrain, Syria, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia,UAE and also Egypt which is represented by Auto Arabia's chief editor Mohamed Sheta.

For those and other reasons it is currently considered the ultimate recognition for vehicles in various categories.

The 2011 model sports sedan has been recognized as the leading vehicle comparing to the competition. There is no denying that driving a Volvo S60 is unlike any other driving experience. Not only is the sleek, modern Scandinavian design pleasing to the eye, its sportier, competitive drive exceeds the standards of luxury cars today.

The Volvo S60 made its launch in August 2010 and sold 70 units by the end of the year. Year to date, Volvo has sold over 300 S60’s. In addition to the Middle East Motor Award for “Middle East Car of the Year�, the Volvo S60 has also won the “International Sedan of the Year� Award and was named “Most Dependable� car from the International Car of the Year jury earlier this year.
